When all three receptors (ER, PR, HER2) are negative, TNBC is diagnosed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the treatment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The treatment of TNBC is usually multimodal:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surgery<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Initial treatment involves either breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy) or mastectomy, depending on tumor size and location. Axillary lymph nodes are also assessed for metastasis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chemotherapy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to the lack of hormone receptors, the <strong>chemotherapy is the most effective means<\/strong> treatment of TNBC. It is often given <strong>preoperative (neoadjuvant)<\/strong> to reduce the size of the tumor and increase the chances of preserving the breast.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Radiotherapy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In cases where the tumor is large, or there is lymph node involvement, the <strong>breast radiotherapy<\/strong> helps
